Sediments of Time Series

 

Sediments of Time portrays the seemingly endless stretch of Australian sandstone (yellow block) coastline. Individual paintings explore the physical nature of our coastal playground, its relationship with the sea and the diversity of topography and colour and grain.

 

This series depicts the geological delight of the sandstone strata adorning Australia's coastline, its undulating permutations, the layers of natural sediment, nooks crannies and hidden gems deposited and buried long ago. 

 

Hints of modernisation, industry and human influence are not overlooked and of course my signature spiral is dominant once again evoking an important conservation message.
