A contemporary painting depicting the subtle colours of our stunning sandstone coast. From the Sediments of Time series which continues the theme of my recent collections exploring Australia’s unique ecosystem, diverse topography, and colour. This series abstracts the rich sandstone which adorns Australia's coastline, its undulating permutations, variation in colour and grain and the strata layers of natural sediment, nooks crannies and hidden gems deposited and buried long ago.

The spiral is a subtle symbol for evolution evoking an important conservation message and the need for us to nurture our planet for future generations to enjoy.

Approximately 20 layers of acrylic medium and paint are used to build the relief texture and colour overlay. Shapes and contours are carved out of the medium, using mostly non-traditional objects. Accents of tiny glass beads provide a hint of shimmer.

Canvas is stretched and ready to hang or stand on a table top/shelf. Sides are painted in cream.
Framed in Tasmanian oak.
Signed on the side and authored on the back.

My minis are designed to hang/stand on their own or with others to make a larger display. Why not combine two or more from any series.
