2020 will be known as one of the toughest years in history with fires, pandemic and far too much blood shed. This work looks forwards, beyond the year that was, hopeful for a brighter future for both humanity and the planet. 

The theme is consistent with Rachel's work, which explores Australia’s unique ecosystem, rich colours and topography. The spiral, which can be seen in all of her current work, symbolises evolution and our relationship with and impact on the environment, in hope that we as a society can appreciate, protect and nurture what we have before it’s too late.
